This has been beautifully hand made using a liberty style dark green cotton with small forget-me-knot type flowers in blue shades with paler green leaves.
The original front lace panel had yellowed with age and so I replaced with an embossed pure white floral lace, lined with white high shine satin. I've tidied a few seams up but other than that, the dress was in good condition - thanks in no small part to the way it has been skillfully made.
The skirt has been lightly gathered where it joins the bodice and the back fastens with it's original zipper. The sleeves are especially lovely, they gather above the elbow to billow out and then gather again at a small cuff that fastens with a prestud. The hem line has been finished with a band of green cotton and hand tacked, great tailoring detail we seldom see nowadays.
