This 1970s peasant style dress had a fine polyester paneling at the front chest panel and sleeve which had begun deteriorating. I therefore had to remove the damaged pieces and rework into a pinafore dress. The armholes have been turned in and I've edged the neck line with vintage lace - similar to that used on the sleeves originally. I kept the neck tie as a feature (this could be cut away if preferred).
The dress has its original zipper in good working order and a hook and eye fastener at the neck. There is also a tie belt at the back.
The dress itself is 100% cotton in a dark green shade with green, beige and brown floral print. Below the waist band the skirt is paneled and falls in an A-line to a deep flounce hem.
