What a beautiful example of handmade finery from the 60's. Gorgeous fabric in a fine silk mix that has an outlined floral pattern reminiscent of that era in colours almost iridescent in their shades on a white backdrop.
The dress is fully lined throughout except for the sleeves and very well tailored with hand-stitching detail in the lining and hem. The left sleeve has had a repair which is nicely done using a sashiko style darning. There are some other areas where the fine weave of the silk has begun to pull but nothing that required immediate attention. I did however apply a few colour complimentary sequins to a stain on the top right side. A dress as fine in quality as this deserves as much attention as is needed to give it another lease of life.
The dress fastens at the back with the original zipper and the front neck has a keyhole design.
