The first thing that I noticed about this vintage treasure was how much it weighed, the fabric does carry some weight.
Handmade, presumably for a special occasion, without labelling it's difficult to say precisely what fabric this is but there is definitely a cotton blend, possible wool mix as it has a quality feel and finish. The dress is fully lined and tailored to the bust and back.
In a bright salmon like pink, the bodice is sleeveless with a round neck picked out in dark navy. Another navy band is inserted around the waistline beneath which the dress falls in box pleats which start just below hip level.
The dress was laundered by hand and line dried then pressed. It would probably benefit from dry cleaning and steam pressing - my budget doesn't stretch to this as I have 100s of garments so I've done the best I can sustainably.
There are no glaringly obvious stains or damage, I have picked over this dress a couple of times and did find a couple of small marks but again, so small it's difficult to pinpoint apart from a faded blue dot on the lower left back where there is also a couple of small signs of wear. The same tiny abrasions on the fabric can be found in the pleating in a couple of places - priced accordingly. I can send further images if necessary. Overall, for its age, it is a super stylish dress, they really don't make them like this anymore.
