This gorgeous gown has a real vintage feel although it's more recent harking from the 1980s. The tell tale signs are the more recent zip fastening at the back and the overlocked panels inside - it's well made and tailored beautifully. The dress has been hand made, maybe to order which explains the gorgeous diamante trim at the neckline and sequined hem.
The dress had some marks on, possibly from the diamante during storage. As the marks were quite random I had to think hard about how to rework it. I decided upon adding single sequins to cover up the marks and I've waterfalled these to give a sense of belonging.
There was also some staining around the underarms and so I've elongated these to cut out the marks which gives the dress more of a pinafore feel and makes it a little more revealing around the bust.
It was far to good a dress to take to pieces and upcycle which is why I've done my utmost to refashion it so that it can be worn again and again. On first appearance I mistook it as 1950s as the tailoring and style has a Marylin Monroe film star appearance, true vintage glamour.
I hope you it finds a new forever home.Measurements:
