At first look I presumed this dress was missing a lining, but it does appear to have been made deliberately sheer - I would imagine a slip underneath would have been required. The chiffon feel fabric has a translucent pale pink pinstripe over which a gorgeous display of blue and purple flowers is printed alongside delicate green foliage.
The top of the dress has a cap sleeve, gathered just under the bust the neckline crosses over to form a V neck. There is a wide band at the waist below which the skirt falls in a wide A line. There is a 7" zipper at the side seam which helps when climbing into this dress but please be mindful that either way the waist band has to go over your hips - full measurements given as it's a snug fit. The bust and waist measure more 10/12 but it's the getting on and off that need to be taken into consideration.
It really is a beautiful piece of vintage and so well made, a dress to be treasured.
