It was love at first sight and this dress would have been mine - if I could fit in it! Sadly it is a couple of sizes too small, measuring around a size UK 6 the dress is quite fitted down to the hips.
Fully lined, the black fabric is a wool blend with a prominent weave that has random, bold primary colour stripes running across the body and sleeves. The stripes, in red, yellow, green, purple are deliberately mismatched at the centre seam creating a totally unique look. The sleeve cuffs have a small frill and the lower hem has a double layered frill with an overlocked edge.
The dress fastens at the back with its original zipper and also has a long tie at the back neck.
There is a white mark at the centre front (pictured) that I wasn't able to remove with washing and there is also evidence of some bobbling on the dress so i have priced accordingly. 
I've only seen one other dress similar in design and that was an '80s garment so I'm guessing this one comes from the same decade. It is so different and attention grabbing - if only I could get in it!
