Every single piece of my vintage stock is given a second chance, no matter the age or condition. In the case of this 1990's Marilyn Anselm dress by Hobbs, the faux fur had been stained at the front, likely a spilt drink as it was quite substantial.
Rather than discard to landfill, I decided to cover every mark. To do this I've fused and cut pieces from a 1970's glitter maxi skirt alongside silver and gold sequins hand sewn on. The more I stitched, the more marks I found so the embellishment took hours! The plus side of this is that there will be no one else at the party wearing a dress remotely like this one.
In every other way the dress was perfect and looked barely worn. It fastens at the back with the original zipper in good working order and is fully lined.
An absolute beaut of a dress, incredibly stylish and ready to party for many years to come.
