Stylish day dress by Marlbeck, high class tailors and clothiers with the tag line, You Know You're Well Dressed in a Marlbeck! Possibly dating from the 1940's this belted style was also popular in the '50s. 
The dress has a busy floral design in shades of red, pink and white and buttons up from the waist with fabric covered buttons. There is a lapel collar and the bodice is nicely tailored to accentuate the shape. 
The sleeves have a nice fullness and a wide cuff fastening with a fabric covered button. The waist is cinched in with a generous tie belt.
What is remarkable about this dress, apart from the fantastic condition it has survived in, is that it looks just at home over seventy years on! A beautiful vintage piece that I'm sure will be treasured going forward.
