This beauty has so much history attached to it - literally. The After Six label shows its pedigree, belonging to probably the biggest formal outfitters of its time in the USA. Another much smaller label (sorry not enough image space to add) is the Amalgamated Workers of America tag at the bottom left hem which shows the companies affiliation with this trade union - a whole other back story lies there...
What's really important is that this fabulous dress shirt is in such great condition for its age. It's at least 1960's possibly earlier. White with a thin line of black stitching running through the frill detail on the front and cuffs. The front panels have a neatly stitched pleated front edged with a narrow decorative frill plus the box pleated front frill that covers the button placket. The stitching detail is beautifully fine and unmarked. The collar has strengtheners at the points and the neck edge is clean. There is a very small black mark on the right front, pictured which may come out in another wash but otherwise it's unmarked. The cuffs are button closure.
I have dozens of dress shirts in stock - they take a lot of maintenance which is why I list one at a time. This one is super special though and I'll be sad to see it go.
