Possibly dating back to the 1960s', this has been well preserved and is in very good condition considering its age.
Made up of several leather squares of differing earthy shades and held together, granny square style with dark red wool crochet. The leather has been evenly punctured around the edges and the crochet woven in to create this waistcoat shape that fastens at the front with a single hook and eye.
Apart from surface cleaning, I've not taken this for any professional leather treatment. There are two squares that show some staining on the reverse suede side. This appears to have happened when the garment was folded as they are opposites, it does not alter the outward appearance of the waistcoat.
I have quite a few leather waistcoats come through but this one has retained a lot of its original charm without needing any restoration work, a beautiful vintage piece.
