Forthcoming Events

Apologies, I've not been keeping the website up to date with forthcoming events lately - so much going on and not enough time to tell you all about it!

After the excitement of my Repair Shop appearance and then Tamworth Castle's Heritage Open Day Workshops, I've been catching up on some sewing. Quite a few clothing alterations and reworks have arrived on my table as well as the never ending mend pile. So, for the past couple of weeks it's been a task to get on top of the day to day stitching jobs - not to mention the vintage sales!

My community project, The Mending Circle has been ticking along throughout all this, meeting bi-weekly at the Community Hub in Tamworth's beautiful Castle Grounds. In fact, whilst holding the Castle workshops one of our meetings took place in the great dining room of the Castle, no better place to mend.

October dates for the Mending Circle will be Saturday the 14th and 28th from 2-4pm at the Community Hub. In-between that, on Saturday 21st October I will be taking part in skill share workshops at Lichfield Repair & Share Cafe, Curborough Community Centre, WS13 7NY.

For this I will be sharing some upcycling skills, you are invited to come along and find out the many ways to turn an old tee-shirt into a new design. Alternatively, if you need specific advice about how to make something useable from an item of clothing you can no longer wear, bring it along and lets see what we can come up with! Oh, and it's FREE to attend.

There's a possibility that I can sneak one more #StitchItDontDitchIt event in before Christmas (I know I said the C word!) I'm thinking of heading back over to the big retail park so if you fancy a spot of street stitching, all you'll need is a chair, some mending and weather proof clothing :-)

I think that's about it for now. I will endeavour to be more proactive where sharing on the website is concerned but, if you do want to find out more about what I do, workshops I run or when the next event will be, do get in touch via my contact page or via missfitcreates@gmail.com
